Hi, I am Vikram Bhawani Singh, a lifelong learner who believes that curiosity is the best teacher. My interests span History, Philosophy, Politics, Spiritualism, Ethics, Sports, Art and Culture, and Geographical Maps.
Academically, I hold an MBA in Finance from Pune University, a Fellowship in Insurance, an MA in History, and I have cleared the UGC-NET in Management. My professional journey began in the public sector, where I worked for 14 years before choosing to focus fully on learning, research, and writing.
Most of my insights come from my own journey as a student. While studying for competitive exams and diving deep into modern Indian history, I often struggled with remembering sequences and connecting events. Why did seemingly simple timelines become confusing? Why did facts vanish the moment I turned the page?
I realised an important truth.
People do not forget because they lack discipline. They forget because the brain does not retain dry, isolated facts. But when the same facts are woven into stories, images, patterns, and quirky connections, they become surprisingly memorable.
That realisation sparked the idea for this book. It blends mnemonics, vivid illustrations, active recall techniques, and simple storytelling to make modern Indian history easier to remember and more enjoyable to revise. Every chapter reflects methods that worked for me as a learner, backed by principles from learning science.
When I am not researching or writing, you will find me playing sports, exploring new ways to learn faster, or simplifying complex ideas into something anyone can understand over a cup of tea.
